Charles Garcia’s life is a vibrant tapestry of dance, education, corporate experience, and community leadership. With 30 years of professional dance experience, Charles has deep roots in the diverse dance traditions of Los Angeles. He was introduced to dance by Professor Benjamin Hernandez at Cal Poly, Pomona. His association with Professor Emilio Rivas deepened his understanding of “cultura.”
Charles has performed with groups such as Ballet Folklórico Mexicapan, Ballet Folklórico Cuicalli, and Mosaico Mexican Folk Ensemble. His professional journey includes 16 years with Anheuser-Busch, Inc., where he served as a corporate trainer across the Americas and the Caribbean.
Mr. Garcia earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Business Education. As an educator in graphic and web design for the Los Angeles United School District, Charles has received numerous awards in the field. He has also been honored with United States Congressional recognition for his community work.
Charles is skilled in generating and communicating ideas, as well as drawing consensus, shaped by his roles as a board member of dance companies and business associations. He emphasizes collaboration and collective decision-making.
An avid traveler, Charles regularly visits Brazil and is a passionate amateur astronomer, actively participating in the Santa Clarita Astronomical Group.
Charles brings a rich blend of experiences as a folklorista, educator, marketing strategist, traveler, astronomer, and community leader, which he shares with Relámpago del Cielo.
